The Drama, a romantic dark comedy released this April, was set within the anxious thrum and eventual explosion of Charlie (Robert Pattinson) and Emma’s (Zendaya) wedding week. I found the film funnier than expected, in at times ridiculous, gruesome ways. Although well done, the film lacked the emotional intimacy I was anticipating. It may not have been my personal favorite, but The Drama thoughtfully married a creative and unexpected plot with the directional choices that made the movie convincing.
