Girls Finish Runner-Up; Boys Earn Program-Best Third

Mason Swimming & Diving delivered a historic performance this past weekend at the OHSAA State Championships in Canton, capping off an extraordinary season with one of the most successful state meets in program history.

The Mason girls’ team surged to a state runner-up finish, showcasing depth, determination, and championship-level performances throughout the weekend. Not to be outdone, the boys’ team secured a program-best third-place finish overall, marking a significant milestone for the Comets on the state stage.

Individually, Mason celebrated two state champions. Isabella Teply and Liam Clark each captured individual state titles, cementing their place among Ohio’s elite and delivering unforgettable performances when it mattered most.

Leading the charge was Head Coach Mark Sullivan, whose leadership and preparation were instrumental in the Comets’ success. In recognition of the program’s outstanding achievements, Sullivan was honored as the Boys and Girls Coach of the Year — a rare and remarkable accomplishment that reflects the strength and unity of the entire Mason program.

From podium finishes to team trophies, Mason Swimming & Diving demonstrated excellence, resilience, and a championship mindset all weekend long. The Comets’ performance in Canton stands as a testament to the athletes’ hard work and the continued growth of one of Ohio’s premier high school programs.

Teply Repeats as State Champion

The Mason Girls Swimming & Diving team once again established itself among Ohio’s elite programs, earning Division I State Runner-Up honors for the third consecutive year at the OHSAA State Championships this past weekend in Canton, Ohio.

Senior standout Bella Teply delivered a remarkable performance, successfully defending her State Championship in the 200 Freestyle while also finishing 2nd in the 100 Freestyle. Teply’s leadership and consistency have been instrumental in Mason’s sustained success at the state level.

Clark Captures State Title! Sullivan Boys/Girls Coach of the Year!

The Mason Boys Swimming & Diving team delivered a historic performance at the OHSAA State Championships this past weekend in Canton, earning a third-place overall team finish — the highest in program history.

Leading the way was junior standout Liam Clark, who captured the Division I State Championship in the 200 Individual Medley, showcasing his versatility and dominance against Ohio’s best. Clark also contributed across multiple events, placing 7th in the 100 Breaststroke and helping power two relay teams to podium finishes.
