Album Review
4 Stars

The popular American rapper Don Toliver released his fifth studio album near the end of January and it quickly reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard 200 within just two weeks of its release. Being his first top-charting album, Octane has not only appealed to his original fans, but also brought in a new crowd of listeners.
With the trending song sampling “Rock Your Body” by Justin Timberlake coming in right after the intro, Toliver’s “Body” begins the album with an explosive start that sets the tone for most of what follows. With other celebrated electric songs such as “ATM”, “Gemstone”, and “E85”, Octane features not only great artists like Travis Scott and Yeat, but also exceptional individual hits. Fueled by less prominent, more reflective songs like “Pleasure’s Mine” and the album closer “Sweet Home”, Octane showcases an excellent list of remarkable tracks and is overall certainly worth a listen from start to finish.
