Comet Country showcased their spirit this week in the annual Homecoming parade, Pep Rally and finally by attending the Winter Wonderland themed Homecoming dance in style on Saturday.

Mason High School Student Government kicked off Homecoming Week on Sunday, October 1 when they came in to decorate the school in green, black and white as well as painting the lobby windows and Spirit Rock to represent the theme.

On the evening of October 5, clubs and sports teams gathered for the annual Homecoming Parade. Put on by StuGo, the parade featured clubs such as Mason Science Olympiad and Students Involving and Befriending Students (SIBS) and sports teams including the football and rowing teams. Mixed in with clubs and athletic teams were the freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior class floats.

On Friday, the student body showcased their love for Comet Country and dressed in Mason apparel. After third bell, students and faculty gathered on Dwire Field for the 2017 Pep Rally. Here, the choir and students in American Sign Language sang and signed the national anthem. The student body saw performances from the MHS dance and cheer teams performed along with the Comet Skippers. After a week of voting, the 2017 Homecoming Court was decided and announced at the Pep Rally. Freshmen Sam Kroger and Victoria Villigan represented the class of 2021, sophomores Josh Sweda and Regan Morton represented the class of 2020, juniors Ben Wells and Emily Vanderbur for the class of 2019 and seniors Jacob Bagdoing and Noelle Champagne for the queen and king for the class of 2018. Seniors Gaby Renshaw and Jack Middleton represented the princess and prince for the 2018 class as well.

On Saturday, after StuGo arrived at the middle school and set up early in the morning, the rest of the student body was getting all dressed up and taking extravagant pictures. Come 8:00 PM, it was time to dance.
